Tenacity

Yesterday I was going through my website cleaning up a few pages and preparing for the new year when I cam across a comment someone left on my About page.  The comment read...

"I had the opportunity to MEET Caitlin at the Smyrna Jonquil Festival this fall.  Usually, I'm just curious to see if there might be a bright shinning star that would make a good story.  I'd spoken to Caitlin in past festivals, but I quite impressed with her business acumen.  This lady is going to take the SOAP world by STORM! I've spoken to three of four soap vendors in the past few years, none come close to having her kind of tenacity.  If you've got a body care need.. you're going to want a bar of Revive from Caitlin!"

Wow what a compliment!!  Seriously words like this mean so much to me, and I hold them very dear to my heart.  I think it is essential for us to encourage one another in our business ventures to create a successful living environment, as well as encourage people to walk down the path of life that God created them to do.

Once word that really stuck out to me in this comment was 'tenacity'.
Tenacious is an adjective defined as:
1. Not readily letting go of, giving up, or separated from an object that one holds, a position, or principle: "a tenacious grip".
2. Not easily dispelled or discouraged; persisting in existence or in a course of action: "a tenacious legend".

Let me emphasize the part about not readily separated from an object that one holds. I started really thinking about this word last night and what it means to be tenacious in my walk with the Lord.  How can I be not readily separated from an object that one holds?

Love.  Love is the answer.  When we accept the love that we do not deserve, we become tenacious because once the Lord's unfailing love gets a hold of us, we cannot be readily separated from it.  The Lord's love has so much tenacity.

When you are walking through life, you may experience things such as fearfulness, hopelessness, and depression, but just like Elijah, we must be tenacious and hold onto the Lord's love.  Because Elijah was steadfast, he went on to tear down Israel's alters and idols.  I encourage you to be a fighter.  The Lord's love is relentless and preservers over all. His love relentlessly pursues us daily.

"Love does not just abide over time, it abides through time."

It is our job to be outrageously loved by our Lord Jesus,  He loves each one of us the most. No matter what we do, we are identified in His perfect love.  This love saves us from our old identities.  When He looks at us, He sees His perfection.  His love hates fear.  His love fights fear.  His PERFECT love casts out fear.  There is NO fear where the Lord is.

His love is tenacious.  It never lets go.  It never fails.  It never dies.
No matter what we do, we cannot be separated from His love.

  1. Wonderful post, I find you have to be very tenacious in the Bath/Body business because it's glutted (in the city I live in) with competition. I agree wonderful comments always boost one's passion.
