Soap Is Beautiful

Hello everyone!  Just found out that my sweet citrus soap was recently featured on a blog called Soap Is Beautiful!
You can view the post by clicking below.

Soap Is Beautiful is a great blog for people obsessed with soap!  She posts pictures of awesome soaps and their packaging.  Always a great site to look at!

I am in the process of doing come EO blending to come up with a new scent to carry.  Maybe a new citrus blend.  If you haven't noticed, I'm kinda obsessed with citrus anything!  Right now I'm just testing things out, maybe a lavender, lemon, pink grapefruit blend??  Sounds yummy to me!

Also, got my English paper back today - I made a 97!  My teacher said my writing was gracefully written...I guess she really likes my style!  It made my day today.

Ran into some old friends at a frozen yogurt place in town tonight.  It is always good to catch up.  Love seeing people from the past and reminiscing!

Skinny Dip is now for sale on my Etsy site and on my new website!  I am still tweaking a few things with the website, so if you have any problems, please let me know.

And for my great blog readers, take 20% off any soap bar!  Please use code BLOGGERS when you are checking out!
*only applies to my Etsy store*

North Carolina

Hey everyone!  Last week was my spring break so I was gone in North Carolina with a few friends!  We stayed in Charlotte, and wow, what a beautiful city!  We visited three malls, but the best one was South Park Mall.  We had tons of fun learning the culture there - They love Nascar!

My friend Jenna's uncle is a photographer (and who we stayed with!) and so we did a photo shoot with him one day!  Here are some pics from that.

From left: Lindsey, Jenna, Caitlin (me!), and Beka

If you are in the Charlotte area and need some pictures, check them out!

As for today, I officially started my new job at the local pet store!  Today was my 4th day, which I worked from 11 to 7!  Loooonnnngggg day but well worth it!  I love getting to play with animals all day :)

Have a Reviving day!

Clean The World

Today I came across this really neat company called Clean The World.  This company partners with hotels and recycles all of the soap that is not used in hotel rooms.  They take this soap, sanitize it, and give it to people in need of sanitation all over the world.  Each day 9,000 children die from pneumonia and various other diseases carried on the hands.  With some soap and proper teaching of how to use it, we can help save lives.

Here is a video explaining a little bit more about what Clean The World does.

When I first started Revive, I knew that I wanted to help people somehow in someway.  I know I God gave me this entrepreneurial spirit for a reason.  The company TOMS Shoes always inspired me to help people.  When it came to soap making, I wasn't really sure what I could do to really help people.  Donate soap?  I wasn't even really sure anyone would accept donated soap.  However, Clean The World really got me to thinking....

I would love to develop a Revive Soap that somehow every bar purchased would donate a certain amount of money to this organization.  Maybe I would call it Revive's Clean The World Soap and it would cost a little bit more than a normal bar, but knowing you are helping save lives would be worth the extra cost.

In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:16

Happy Sunday!

Oh Soap.

Good news!  School is going great this semester.  I made a 98 on my first calculus exam and a 96 on my first econ test!  But when it comes to science, I made a C.  I am definitely made out to be a business person!

Spring break is right around the corner.  Today is actually my last day of classes until my spring break!  Ben's spring break is the week after mine.  We won't be able to see each other for three weeks :( Buttttt I'm leaving on Wednesday to go to Charlotte, NC with two of my good friends, Jenna and Lindsey.  We will be staying with her cousin until Saturday.  I'm really excited because I've never been to Charlotte!

I also just got a new job yesterday!  I am probably going to keep both of my jobs.  Oh goodness - a college student, working two part-time jobs, and trying to start a company... this could get interesting!  My new job is at a pet store.  I'm really excited because I love animals :)  However, this weekend will be so busy as I transition to trying to work on a schedule for both jobs.  I work at Otter's on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.  Then I work at Otter's and the new pet store on Monday and Tuesday - Morning shift at Otter's while I'll have the night shift at the pet store.  Good think it's my break!

In my last post I talked about all of my upcoming shows.  The first one is in April!  The Big Shanty Festival will be my first two day show, so I have been soaping like a mad woman.  I want to be sure I have enough product for both days.  Since this show is in Kennesaw, I will be able to bring more soap the second day from home if my supply starts getting low.  I don't think I'm ready for shows too far away from home yet.

Oh Soap.
Haha one thing I have come to realized as a soapmaker is that a soapmaker always needs something.  Either I've ran out of lavender essential oil, or I want/need a new soap mold, there is always something.  I had thought when I placed my last order from my suppliers that it would get me through my first show of the season.  Nope.  Ran out of purple mica when I was making some lavender soap three days ago.  So I figured I better order it so it'll be in by the time I get back from North Carolina.  Guess what!!!  My supplier has discontinued the purple pop mica that I use to color my lavender soap.  So now I'm on the hunt for several micas to order to replace all of my pop micas.  If there are any soapers out there having the same problem, have you found any replacements for any of the pop micas?  I am in desperate need for a good purple mica.  I'm pretty sure I have enough of the others, but since lavender is my best seller, I need a bunch of it.  Blahhhh it makes me nervous!

Anyhoooo, I'm on the way to drop of a copy of my driver's license and a void check so my new job can get me set up for direct deposit.  Then I must do some studying for my science test today; I really need to do good on it!

Have a Reviving day!
